Job Description :

Roles and Responsibilities : At Wipro Technologies you would be responsible for: � Oracle 8.x ,9i and 10g family of products plan, Install, setup, applying oracle patches. � Oracle database upgrades from 8.x to 10g, 9.x to 10g and Client configuration. � Creation and Maintenance of Oracle Instances, Databases, Schema and Objects across Development, Testing and Production environments. � Maintenance and execution of backup/recovery procedures by Integrating the RMAN with Legato Storage Manager. � Strong work experience in Database Cloning and Database recovery scenarios. � Create, Maintain and execute standard data movement, batch jobs and utilities � Handle Oracle security, access privelges and Logging � Strong Production environment Monitoring, Diagnosing and Trouble shooting - Event handling, database performance and availability monitoring using BMC Patrol and Qwest Central tools/TOAD. � SQL Performance Monitoring and Fine Tuning the user queries, resolving locks and deadlock issues. � Creation, Maintenance and execution of Oracle Scripts and Unix Shell Scripts (Shell Scripting Knowledge required) � Meeting managment with mulitiple application support teams for application development changes, including application monitoring and tuning. Skills and Job Requirements: �� Working experience on AIX/UNIX and minimum level system administration knowledge. Should have worked as a Oracle DBA in a Datawarehousing environment primaraly in UNIX(AIX/HP/Solaris). �� Must have working knowledge in Oracle on Windows NT/2000 Server. �� Expertise in navigating the Oracle environment on Production, Testing and Development environments. �� Strong knowledge of SQL/Shell Scripting. �� Strong knowledge of Oracle utilities and commands. �� Ability to create, maintain Oracle objects. �� Ability to design, implement, maintain, tune and support databases. �� Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot common SQL CODES and error messages. �� Familiarity with data modeling and design. �� Ability to handle backup and recovery using RMAN and exp/imp utilities. �� Familiarity with SAN,Unix Raw Partitions/Character devices. �� Familiatiry with Legato Storage Manager/Tape Backups.
