Job Description :

To provide 2nd level Storage Management services and product support for various Total Storage Solutions across various accounts. Duties include; Maintain and Manage various storage solutions. Provide 2nd level technical support, guidance and direction for products supported. Analyse and resolve escalated problems. Ensure integrity of supported environment. Actively and pre-emptively determine possible faults and causes by the execution of pre-determined health and operational checks. Manage and resolve problems identified by sys admins or monitoring software Work with change and problem management tools Hardware /software fault detection and vendor liaison Liaise with customer accounts as required Analyse and resolve escalated problems within target. Investigate, identify and document proposals that will improve application recoverability. Document and implement changes to technical standards as required. Change and problem management targets are exceeded Ensure that customer satisfactory levels are exceeded

Desired Profile :

Essential: Graduate/Diploma from a reputed Institution. Preferred Degree/Diplomas would include Information Technology; Engineering, Science or Commerce. Desired Experience 4 Years of experience Hands on knowledge in Administration of HP/ Solaris / AIX Unix systems in a large commercial environments Good Concepts and Knowledge in storage terminology like DDM, Array Sites and Rank. Provide recommendations to improve the SAN infrastructure, and address/lead critical issues and root cause analysis Proven track record in the implementation and execution of documented support processes and can direct others in same. Has applied knowledge in the administration of windows NT/2000 and Linux systems Hands on experience in Shell/Perl Scripting. Techncial Skills Has exposure to McData Fibre Channel Switches, Brocade Swiitches, Cisco Switches. Should have good working knowledge in FastT Manager, Smcli, DS storage manager and DScli. Proficient in configuring the Storages like DS4000, DS6000 and DS8000. Has exposure Flash Copy, Metro Mirror, Global Copy and Global mirror. Has exposure to viewing DS4000 and DS6000/DS8000 for errors and hardware failures. Comfortable in opening cases with driving them to closure. Has worked on various Volume Management software''s like RDAC, AIX LVM, HP LVM, and Veritas Volume Manager. Non Technical Skills Must have excellent team working skills balanced with ability to work alone and a positive attitude. Ability to quickly assimilate technical and non-technical information. Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and verbal. Desire to obtain formal certification in product set supported. Desired Skills Good presentation skills. Good Leadership skills Ability to quickly assimilate technical and non-technical information. Candidate must be prepared to work within a team on a standby rota for 24x7 support of customer systems. Will be expected to perform some out of hours work in order to support customer changes Candidates must be able to demonstrate that they can effectively manage their workloads Be proactive and flexible in their approach to work.
