Job Description :

Provide a technical leadership role as QCLDM champion for suppliers and assure technical development to adequately meet product source plans. Support Product Sourcing Strategy and provide technical leadership in new supplierion. Evaluate and develop new supplier''s technological capability to meet required Caterpillar design, quality, and material specifications. Provide leadership in resolution of quality problems associated with the purchased materials, and logistics and engineering issues. Represents Global Purchasing in outsourcing solutions with the Business Unit. Maintain the highest ethical and professional standards within this diverse global organization. Supports and participates in 6 Sigma initiatives with facilities, category teams, and suppliers. The incumbent will collaborate with Buyers to improve supplier cost, quality, and throughput. Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of technological developments and trends for guidance of commodity teams in advancements of design, quality, and manufacturing. Must have a thorough working knowledge of quality initiatives to ensure that Product Part Approval Process(PPAP) are completed and approved before new parts are delivered. This includes leadership in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activity. The position manages the completion of its own work assignments and coordinates work with others. Participate in the development of Supplier metrics and the monthly gathering and distribution of measurements. Resolve problems between supplier and plants, suppliers and engineering personnel, and between facilities. Coordinate with engineering personnel on matters regarding Concurrent Product and Process Development (CPPD), New Product Introduction (NPI), Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) teams; prove design to production, engineering changes, deviations, supplier designs, specification approvals, and meeting cost reduction goals. Will lead the design and processing of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA). The position manages the completion of its own work assignments and coordinates work with others. This position typically does not have any direct reports. Some travel is required.

Desired Profile :

The position requires a bachelor''s degree in Electrical and Electronics engineering - or equivalent experience, preferably in engineering. In addition, three to five years of job-related experience , in Engineering or manufacturing or Supplier development , specifically in the electrical and electronics products manufacturing industry . ( Example : AC Generators / Control Panels / Dash Board equipments / Switch gears etc . Should have a sound knowledge in APQP / PPAP processes Good human relations skills are required to develop a cooperative working relationship with others inside and outside . Solid ability to use and demonstrate statistical and problem solving tools is required. Tools and Techniques of 6 Sigma methodology are requirements and will be attained through completion of Green Belt training and/or prior 6 Sigma experience. We are looking for a person with Electrical and elctronics engineering degree and have typical industry experience ( example : genset manaufacturing facility ) we are specifically looking for BE in Electrical and Electronics as they will deal with commodity buying in those areas. Further we are looking at Alternator Manufacturers , OEMs dealing in Control Panel, Diesel engine dealers/manufacturers, Automotive Electrical majors.
